Frozen Four

About 17 people in the state know this, but the Frozen Four begins tonight and you have a team to watch: the Boston University Terriers.

Yes, most of you know I went to BU, but I'm not jamming it down your throats for that reason. There are other reasons to watch tonight, namely the fact that the game is against Vermont (New England match-up) and is on national TV (ESPN2, 8:30 p.m.).

Here's a lil cheat sheet if you tune in:

-BU is fire this year. Blessed with great defending, solid goaltending and plenty of offense, they are the perfect team and the No. 1 club in college hockey. They have a 33-6-4 record.

-Five of BU's D-Men are NHL draft picks, and that doesn't even include the best one, Matt Gilroy, who walked on freshman year as a forward and will walk off to the NHL with a fat contract.

-Gilroy is a beast. He's a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, which is hockey's Heisman. On the other end, Vermont has a finalist in Viktor Stalberg (24-21-45).

-Brandon Yip (right) is a huge Asian who's nice at hockey (20-21-41). Pretty cool.

-BU's Colin Wilson is the first Terrier to score 50 points since Chris Dury. He's got 15-37-52 totals.

-Kieran Millan (BU goalie) is a freshman and has a 1.85 GAA.

-Vermont beat BU 2 out of 3 times in the regular season. Could be an ill game.

The winner goes on the to National Championship against either Bemidji St. or Miami of Ohio, two schools who I guess are secret good at hockey.
