Still living the dream.....

First of all I want to throw out a nice huge F U to Verizon who has still not fixed my internet. So I apologize to everyone for not putting up my gold recently, I'm sure you all have been very concerned as to where the J-man was at.

Yeah...suck on this one Verizon.

I'm at work right now so if I get a chance later I'll throw up some Music Monday stuff for y'all but for now I wanted to share with you an email I got from my Intramural "B" League (The B means you suck) captain.

I work at the U (Bentley) as the Athletic Facility Supervisor (cool title, means 0), and yes I still live the dream and play intramurals....so this is what our captain had to say:

Subject: Does anyone actually say yes when the doctor asks you if you have done any recreational drugs? (actual heading of email)

"Here is the deal for Thursday. I am already buying drinks that night if we win. But now added to the running, whoever is the most impactful player on the team, meaning good D and shit, or scores the most points wins a date with either one of my sisters or mom. They are 27, 24, and 56 respectfully. Grew up following the equestrian dream, and ma dukes is an aerobics instructor. So come to the game, win the game, and drink some beers while choosing from three of the most beautiful girls in the world. Also to clear up any rumors I don’t have appendicitis. Thank you. Im out

Game at 7

Any questions can be answered by replying through this email. "

Is this not the best captain in the history of sports? I already just went out to the court and took 100 free throws and 200 jumpers. I'm so F*ing ready for Thursday night...I might drop 40 on these poor B league kids, most of whom have never played basketball before.

So I just want to inspire all of you to keep living the dream....keep playing college intramural sports at age 24, keep puking on campus, and just keep being awesome.

Your leader,

Week 3 Recap: The Bridge

The day of the recaps huh. I know you were all wondering what happened today in my basketball game. The Bridge once again took home a W in a nice slopfest 52-50. Big team effort here, with Chris Hall and James Smith carrying the load offensively.

As far as my drunk/hungover ass goes, I missed a sweet breakaway layup with like 1:30 left but then hit an uncontested layup that ended up sealing the victory....I still suck, but I will get it together soon (Sounds like what I've said the last two weeks huh). The Bridge goes for 4-0 next week...I might not party all night this time.

The Bridge: Week 2 Recap

This clip still gets meeeeee rlolllll.

Week 2 result....1 point win in Overtime. I mean sure we played a bunch of stiffs, but a W is a W is a W babbbyyyyy.

Dan Wam Spector had a solid showing, especially in the first half, and James Smith came through with some big shots down the stretch with Chris Hall on the bench after fouling out on a bullllshiiiittt call. Pretty solid team effort from top to bottom....Refs hate us for some reason though. No1 likes white kids from the burbs.

And as far as ya boy goes, I may have missed a 1 and 1 up by 1 point with 5 seconds left...my bad.

Go watch some football ya queeers.

Week 1 Recap: The Bridge

Here in the Bridge we like many things which start with the letter B. Beer, Bitches, Blizzies, The Boston Blazers (more on this to come), anddddd Basketball. We have a summer league that people obsess over pretty much year round, myself included...which transitioned to a bunch of us now playing in a Sunday league right down Route 18 at the Dome in Bwata.

So, for my own personal satisfaction...and probably for the enjoyment of about, 5-6 other dudes, I will be recapping and talking about our Sunday games.

So week 1 started off a little rocky I would say, as we only had 5 guys. However when I looked across the court at our opposition I started to feel pretty good about our chances. The game really was never in doubt, I think they got it within 2 in the middle of the first half, but we ended up cruising to a 85-53 victory.

Everyone played real well, with Dan "Wambo" Spector dropping a career high of 30. Chris Hall had 18 at the half, and finished with around 30 as well. Both Edgerly's (Prob. spelled their names wrong, my bad) performed very well, leading to the smash sqaud of the buncha chooches that we played.

Add a big man, and maybe one sniper, which hopefully we will do, and this team is a problem. Last session we dipped out of the playoffs in the first round by like 4 to the team that eventually won the ship....this session its Redeem Team time.

So I know what you are alllllll thinking...."Man I wonder how the J-man played???"
Below is a game photo of me in the post, courtesy of Dome Sports.

I played alllriiighhhtttt....I like to beast boards and harass people on defense, which matches up with my personality of being a dick. On this team I play more in the post, where I decently suck, and never know where I am in relation the the basket. Once I get comfortable down there I will probably suck considerably less, and I see myself reverse dunking on dudes very soon (in NBA 2k9).

Stay tuned next week for more on The Bridge as we go on the quest for banner #1.....and read the lines posted below by Wolfie, because here at White Kids there is nothing more we enjoy than hooking our readership up......

with gambling debt.

I'm kidding bro.
