In honor of today’s inauguration, the Barack OBalla mixtape:



He has a silky, reserved game some compare to Tony Parker and Lenny Wilkins. I’d say that’s a lil presidential stretch right there, but the dude’s pretty good. He played high school ball at an ill Hawaii school. The team he was on had three people go DI, including two at his position so he didn’t get much burn until senior year. Played a lot on the local courts though, one of the few places where “his blackness couldn’t hurt” him.

He still plays tons. His personal assistant walked on at Duke (’05), his brother-in-law Craig Robinson, Michelle's brother, is the head coach at Oregon St., a close cabinet member (Chicago’s secretary of treasurey) played at BU in the late 90s, his security advisor played at Georgetown and his Secretary of Education starred on the Harvard women’s team – so he’s surrounded by ballers. During the election, they would play pick-up all the time. And Obama noted some of the Reddest states he turned (North Carolina, Indiana) were states he played ball in, Indiana against high schools and NC against the UNC team (he blew a layup when Hansborough swooped in to block).
