Like it or not, the Earth was almost hit with an asteroid this week. On Monday, an asteroid estimated to be about 60 t0 150 feet in diameter swooshed by our planet about 45,000 miles away, or only 2x the distance of an averaged satellite and 1/5th the distance between the Earth and the moon.
What could it have done if it hit Earth? Nothing too major, although “It was about the same size as the one that burned up over Siberia in 1908, leveling nearly 800 square miles of forest in the infamous ‘Tunguska Event.’”
Ticking down to 2012??

This is terrifying. It's inevitable but I hope they hold off like atleast 80 years.
