Ha..kiddin, but that was sweet. You know when your premier slugger, the former most feared left-handed hitter in the leaugue and face of the franchise swats a meaningless home run in May and gets an ovation like he just hit a game winner in October that you have really good fans. Or you are in trouble. Either or.

Lets all relax for a minute, it was a bad april and first half of May. He came into ST in the best shape of his career but without Manny there the pressure was quickly on. He slumped early but will still hit 25+, .280+, and 90+. Everyone slumps he got it out of the way early, pressures off, and he can just start swinging the bat now. In an unrelated note, I am very impressed with the officiating thus far in the first two games of the NBA conference finals. Either David Stern is being held hostage somewhere by Magic fans or he's just waiting to put the phone call into Dick Bavetta and Benit Salvatore for the yearly pre finals fix.
ReplyDeletei love ortiz, or as i refer to him "my baby's daddy" i always loved him b4 he was big papi, and i'll love him through his slump. I'm sooo glad he hit a hr though because I get shit on at work on a daily basis. "Ortiz is on roids, etc etc." "Your baby is gonna come out with 3 heads" haha thanks Ortiz for making my life a lil more bearable!!
ReplyDeleteBarbaro, no chance he hits those numbers. Im not saying he won't play to that pace for the rest of the way but the numbers wont look like that at the end of the year starting in a 150 at bat hole.
