First of all on a somber and serious note, thoughts and prayers go out to the 228 passengers and crew on board the Air France airbus that disappeared over the Atlantic yesterday. CNN reported some pieces that could be wreckage were found today and various outlets reported it may have been some type of equipment failure.
Yesterday the initial speculation centered on a lightning strike, but was soon refuted after experts concluded that these type of planes can withstand that. I thought that was a little crazy until the national telecast I was watching showed a YouTube clip of it happening and the plane being fine.
Looked it up myself and found 2 of them. Plane just chills and isn't affected on bit. Some would say its scary but I find it comforting that these jumbos can take a strike like that.
