Thursday Deal

I have to admit I feel pretty good about this deal. Don't get me wrong, I love having xbox 360...but how ill were the sega days? Games were so simple and ill..I mean who cares if your players looked like little lego figures bopping around on your 12 inch black and white TV, I still had a blast. In that mindset I bring you this....

Ea Sports Plug N Play - $9.36 WITH FREE SHIPPING
This controller has Madden and NHL 95 loaded on it for your gaming pleasure.

Also can I get some G D feedback on these things....does anyone buy these? I think I've bought two of my own Thursday deals but has anyone else? I mean I just want to know what kinds of things people want to see on here and I will do some hunting for you all.

Keep it real.

Ninja Children And More

Ninjas continue to make a comeback.

And speaking of Ninjas, this next video is a lesson to all of us. If you start a fight with an asian, never forget that 84% of them can kick your head.

And Youk needs a better move next time he charges the mound. The grab the guy and get hip tossed by a rookie move isn't that good. When you get there you need to throw a bomb, go for a tackle/takedown, or bicycle kick the pitcher. Just always keep your head on a swivel if the first basemen is Mo Vaughn.

Quick Roundup - Rants, Links, Vids

Hey is Mike Lowell still a slugger? Me and Nick were talking about it tonight as he was mashing. He like is. One of my buddies used to tell me Lowell only goes deep during the day because hes so old that he cant see at night. I didn't think it was funny until Lowell was hooking dingers during every game I watched, loved it. You sort of need Lowell in the lineup now though don't you? Hes hitting missiles during any time of the day lately. Our lineup is way better with Lowell/Youk and V-Mart catching. Tek "calls a great game" but sucks at hitting and throwing, cool.

Pedro made his debut for the Phils tonight and got the win. I still love that guy. Hes still hitting low to mid 90's. How could he not even get tryouts for major league teams at one point? You don't like K's and swagger? Dont get it.

A Tribute to....Miranda Kerr

If you do not know who this Australian Victoria's Secret model is yet, you have made a grave life mistake. But don't worry, I am here to fix that for you. First of all I didn't even know that Australia was capable of producing women like this did you? I thought all they had was Foster's, Kangaroo's, and a mediocre season of MTV's The Real World. Word on the street is she is dating Orlando Bloom. You may know him from the Lord of the Rings where he played that ill elf, or Pirates of the Carribean where he played Will. I know what your all wondering....am I mad at Orlando Bloom for stepping in and dating Miranda after our tough break up. The answer is of course no, I'm glad that Miranda is happy and I wish them the best of luck. But seriously...someday I am going to figure out a way how to control an army of cute/hot babes just like Miranda and take over the world. It has been my master plan for some time so don't be surprised when it happens and the kid is crowned ruler of the world.

I apologize for putting this post up so late, however I had a virus all day that I think I got from drinking beer at the 99 which was contaminated with some sort of cleaning chemicals. Like the true champ that I am...I of course drank the whole 25 of chemical beer, and suffered all day today.

A Spark for the Season?

I'm going to keep this brief, because I've been delving into sports, specifically the Sox, a little too much here lately. Haven't been getting many comments on the serious posts, so maybe people aren't feeling em anymore.

Plus it's pretty late in the day day. Sorry about that. Busy day. Luckily we had Kate post and a surprise appearance form Wolfie, whose comp has been getting blapped by a fat virus. Jake, meanwhile, is suffering from a different virus and hasn't even been online today. Let's wish him a big Get Well just like the kids in camp today, who all wrote him fire get well cards. Enjoy, buddy.

Actually, Jake's brother sent me over a clip of Jake from earlier today:

Meanwhile, back to the original point of this post. Could last night's Tigers-Sox "brawl" be the spark that the Sox needed to save their season?

I think it could be to be honest. I was talking about it with Jared and this team was as dead as they come. I even questioned the heart of the club in Monday's morbid post.

They needed something to give them a jump start and help them come together.

This isn't as epic as the 2004 Yankees-Sox brawl that saw Jason Varitek shove his mitt into A-Rod's grill followed by a huge comeback capped by a Bill Mueller walkoff of Rivera....but it could serve a similar purpose.

In 2004, the team used that came to come together and go on a historic August run. I think they won something like 20 of 22 games or something (too lazy to look it up right now).

After Youk charged the mound last night, I had a good feeling. I looked over at Jared and told him that this could be the spark we needed. A single and a monstrous Jason Bay homerun later, the feeling was confirmed.

That feeling grew once Terry Francona was ejected a batter later for arguing a really unimportant out call on a JD Drew steal attempt. Very unusual for Francona. He screams at umps and crossed the line about as often as...well about as often as Youk charges the mound - never.

Do I think they each did it on purpose? Eh, maybe. I think Youk was extremely fed up. Between his constant beanings from the Yankees, the fact that he was hit the night before and the total wear of a team-leading 10 HBPs this season, he just snapped. He was a little embarrassed after, but he knew he had to do something. As I wrote on Monday, this team was getting pushed around a bit lately. Not to get all macho, but someone had to stand up, here.

Francona, meanwhile, kept the ball rolling with his ejection right after. The players love seeing that fire from their skipper. Especially when they are not used to it. Again, I'm not saying he got tossed on purpose, but don't you think everybody in that home dugout got a sense how important this game was after that? I do.

It was a must win. Detroit is a good team. A first place team. They haven't won two straight in a week. They were playing at home, down 3-0 early and they just got their top hitter ejected with a suspension looming. It was as big of a game as it gets in August.

Youk's five game suspension was probably worth it. Actually, as I'm typing this, Mikey Lowell just went deep again. DO NOT pitch to him. Lowell will play third, VMart and Kotchman will play first and the Sox overall depth will shine through.

Meanwhile, as Youk chills these next five days, he can rest easy. He may have lit a match under a club that desperately needed a spark.

Posner and Puff

Following up on Kate's Music Monday, here is a remix by Mike Posner that I like. Definitely different, but thats not always a bad thing. Speaking of different not always being bad, have you guys seen Making His Band? Puff has some chronic musicians trying to get on his new stuff. The only problem is that the new stuff SAAACKS.

A Dance Lesson

Never say I never gave you anything. With the exception of the Stanky Leg, which I'm sure is in his vast repertoire of moves/gyrations, this man does it all. He gets down, that's all I'm saying. If I knew this guy on a personal level, like say he was my uncle or brother...he would definitely be my anti-drug...but since there is no such relation, I just have to respect his zest for interpretative dance. Does his back-up dancer add to the performance? I want to say definitely, maybe. and lastly, Don't do Meth, kids.

Cpl Vids

A few ill vids that need to be shared.

Roddick's Serves vs. Radio DJ
Last week's SI mentioned this battle and said it was on YouTube. Andy Roddick holds the Guiness record for fastest tennis serve in the world. Bobby Bones is a radio DJ who is boys with Roddick. After telling Roddick that returning a serve isn't that hard, A-Rod challaneged him to try to return any of 10. Hohoo Roddick taunts him telling him "that one was just 95" even though he can ched it in at 145.

FF to 2:45 if you want to just watch the serves and at the very minimum check out 7:30 to see him almost get shuffled.

Wedding Entrance
With over 18 million views now, 90% of the people reading this have prob seen the video of the entire wedding party entering the church to Chris Brown's Forever. But for that other 10%...enjoy:

Will This Be the Greatest Drink of All Time??

OK, so as word quickly circulates and a buzz builds around the Internet, we all are anxious;y awaiting the first batch of Tru Blood, the drink based on the drink used in the smash HBO drama, True Blood.

Just like Billy Compton, I cannot wait to delve into a bottle of this delectable indulgence. Basically, it's a sweet and tart balanced carbonated orange drink with tons (50 mg) of caffeine, an early theory being that the makers want it to give you a jolt like you'd get drinking the real stuff. (Sounds ridiculous typing, but my True Blood lovers out there know what's good.)

New York Magazine -- seriously -- did some taste tests on it. Here are some of the things they said:

-"The grossest thing about Tru Blood is its name. The drink itself is fizzy, tangy, surprisingly drinkable. Some sorority girl is going to love mixing it with her double-vodka Red Bull."

-"Compared to most soft drinks, it's refreshing and not too sweet. It also foams just like real blood. Ultimately, though, I prefer the stuff when it comes from Jesus."

-"It's kind of got an orange-Hi-C-mixed-with-Sprite kind of taste going for it. Not as good as Ecto-Cooler, but then again, what is?"

You can order the stuff online already through HBO. It's $16 for a 4-pack and $96 for a 24-pack, which makes about zero sense because there is no discount at all. Apparently they must think this stuff is going to fly off the selves. Prolly will. It's marketing genius actually. It's the apex of the show's hype right now and just watching the show, you are always intrigued by it and would love to be ill and try it, especially if they make the bottle look absolutely the same. You say corny, I say illy.

I'll scoop some for sure; might wait until it comes out in stores though and place a 4 pack on the counter and flash the clerk a sinister glare as I lick my lips. Bahahahaha. Should be good for endless jokes, no? This is my girlfriend and I trying it out this weekend:

And as any good consumer should, people have already done experiments to determine how to incorporate Tru Blood with alcohol.

Slashfood.com did a little work and came up with 3 possibilities, although only the absinthe mix, something called the Dutch Blood, seems feasible.

I though this Budweiser parody was sweet:

This will be me at the bar on September 9:

Seriously are these real?

These videos are honestly killing me right now. I have a feeling that I might be the only one finding them funny, but I really don't care.

Does everyone think these are real? I kinda feel bad even laughing at them because I think I'm making fun of this poor 16 year old pimple faced pyscho. If I have a kid that even starts to act like this I'm taking him out back with a shotgun.

There's really so many things that make me laugh in this video....his terrible voice, his orange pants again, his ill line to his brother "god you have a boner for that camera," and the best part is of course the little brothers laugh as he films the whole thing. It's so F*ing good really. If it is fake it's comedic genius on the part of these two kids....I want them on the blog now.

Someone find out if its real.
