Just a friendly reminder....

The College Football season officially begins tonight with South Carolina vs. NC State at 7pm and then what should be a good game in #16 Oregon vs. #14 Boise State at 10:15pm.

To celebrate this, I bring you this week's Sports Illustrated Cheerleader of the Week: Lisa from Oregon.

For more of Lisa click HERE.

Needless to say Lisa is my favorite Duck since Charlie Conway and Adam Banks...two of the greatest Ducks of all time. (If you don't get that joke you have no soul).

BTW I tried to do a clever little post with who is going to win this game based on who has the hotter cheerleaders, but literally couldn't find any attractive Boise St. cheerleaders on google that were worth posting. F*ing Idaho man....what do they bring to the table of the United States? Potatoes..???? Give me a break.

Thursday Throwback: First Day of School

(Every Thursday WKFTB will bring you a throwback, something that reminds us of our late-80s-early-90s childhood. Today's edition: First Day of School.).

I know technically some of you reading this actually had or will soon have another first day of school. But college doesn't really count. Not everyone starts the same day, you might have night classes, you might only be in a class for an hour and that's it...I'm talking about the REAL first day of school, from elementary up to high school.

That's a first day. You get to see everyone you know, some of whom you haven't seen all summer. You are a little pissed about being back in school but excited at the same time to see friends and play sports or participate in clubs or whatever you do.

There are a few things you always have for the first day:

1) A fresh outfit. This is universal. You always wear something new the first day, from Kindergarten to senior year. If you're like me, back to school clothes shopping probably went from being your least favorite thing to one of the best activities you could possibly do. I wish my mom would take me this year. Jealous of my younger brothers and sisters getting an influx of fresh seasonal gear. You always end up looking something like this kid:

-Note the freshy white shirt. Thing is unstained right now. The sneaks, even though they are black, look pretty shiny and new. The lunchbox and backup are also looking good. The hair is short, which brings me to ...

2) Haircut. Gotta get cut up nice for school. Whether it's the wiffle, the bowl cut or the spiked in the front look, you had to hit the barber shop a week or so before. Girls, I'm not too sure how you handled it. I feel like a girl haircut is so random and not on a strict schedule that you could do it at anytime. Get your bangs trimmed? Colored when you were older? Female readers feel free to fill us in.

3) A Tired Ass Look on Your Face. Hey you just spent 3 months sleeping to whenever you wanted basically. Getting in the 6-7 range is not ideal for you right now.

4) Lunch. Usually pack a bagged lunch on Day 1. Why? Too risky to buy the first day, especially since you most likely don't know the menu yet. Don't want to get stuck with Sloppy Joes or hot dogs or something. You might even be singing this song:

5) Pointless accessories. Twelve book covers? Two 10-packs of pens and/or pencils? Parents for some reason thought you were burning the midnight oil, writing and reading tons and slaving away over lined paper. Nah dude, we type everything now. I'll use one pen for this entire quarter/semester/whatever it was called. Oh and the ruler and staple remover? Please. I'm using the latter to puncture forearms the former to measure...well, never mind.

Well, that's pretty much it. Hope everyone who is still in school isn't taking it for granted. It's the best moment of your lives. In the words of Billy Madison, you've got to CHERISH IT!

Weird Sports Round-Up

Sorry for the no posting situation. Yesterday was a travel day. In other news, Jared has been traveling for about 3 weeks apparently.

Jake really held it down though. Love Shaq, Oregon is sick and I'd obvi be Wolverine is I could be an X-Men. Actually prolly Magneto cause I'd want to be a bad guy. Because of my absence yesterday, and my 9 hours in flight and in airports, I have a lot on my mind. For that, I will supply you with 2 posts today.

First, there is a lot of crazy stuff happening int he sports world, starting with Curt Schilling wanting to run for the late Ted Kennedy's seat in the Senate.

This is what he had to say:

"[Running] would be fun. The whole spotlight media crap, not so much," the former major league pitcher, who helped the Boston Red Sox win the World Series in 2004 and 2007, told Boston radio station WEEI on Thursday. "But [a run] would be a lot of fun because pretty much anybody that you're fighting against in office right now doesn't really have much of a leg to stand on right now.

"There's nobody you can go up against that you couldn't probably drag out a laundry list of stuff and say, 'Listen, this person's already proven that they're status quo, that they're business as usual, and we need anything but in every way shape and form moving forward."

Look at that pic. C'mon Curt, get outta hear with this. I know you sweat yourself and love politics, but A) you have zero experience outside of campaigning for George W., which is really just talking, B) this is the Senate we're talking about, there hasn't been a seat open in Mass. for like 15 years and C) you are a noted Republican, which clearly won't work in Mass.

-Another sports nugget I loved today was Jeff Jagodzinski getting fired as offensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the season starts. Jags, as most of you reading this far down in a sports post know, was the coach of BC football the past 2 years before a messy divorce this spring. The Jets wanted to interview Jags for their head coaching vacancy, but BC basically said we'll fire you if you do. Jags did anyway, got peaced by the Eagles and didn't get the job (it went to Rex Ryan). But then he hooked on with Tampa as an O Coordinator. Still better if you ask me. But now he's out of a job again with yet another dispute, this one "over coaches and players not agreeing with Jagodzinski's coaching philosophies and teaching methods."

LOL, slayta Jags. You must be a mega chooch.

-I'll leave you with this little gem. We all know that John Smoltz Pitching Machine has turned back into John Smoltz World Beater upon his return to the National League. Well now Brad Penny is up to same tricks. Penny had a sterling 7-8 record with a 5.61 ERA with the Red Sox. Numbers Jake could put up with his elbow dangling off. So Penny signs with the Giants and makes his debut last night against the defending world champion Philadelphia Phillies in Philly. This is the line he puts up:

8IP, 5H, 1BB, 2K, 0R

Are you kidding me? Zero friggin runs? If this doesn't cement the fact that the NL is the minor league of MLB than I don't know what does. Brad Penny throwing 8-inning shutouts against the best team they have to offer in said team's home park??? AL is winning it all this year.

Thursday Deal...De Ja Vu

I feel like I have posted this identical deal before but whenever you can get noise cancelling head phones for 10 bucks trust me...it's a steal. Many of you may not be music lovers like me, but whenever I am in a public place with my ipod going (which is very rare because I'm not one of those chooches who walks around with like one ear bud in while they talk to people, etc) the last thing I want to do is hear other peoples bullshit conversations. So if your like me, invest in these.

Two Philips SHN2500/37 Noise-Canceling Earbuds - $9.99
Click HERE to grab this little treat.

The below picture is the stereotypical iPod listening douche I was talking about previously in this post. If you are this kid, please stop reading WKFTB. Thank you.

Breaking News...my dreams of becoming a member of the X-Men still possible.

I knew this day would come....I have been waiting all my life to be a mutant so that I could fight all that is evil in this world (and also to use my mind powers to trick hot girls into liking me). Well, I had just about given up on my dream until I came across this article today on the BBC titled "We are all mutants say scientists." Please click on the link for the full article, I am not talented enough to summarize it for you.

Needless to say I am very excited. In reading the article, scientists are quoted saying that we all have 100-200 mutations within our DNA. Which leaves me wondering what sweet mutations I have within me. I mean will I be a good mutant like Cyclops? Or will I be a crazy evil one like Sabertooth. Who really knows....

In other news, I have in fact, lost my mind. That is all.

I haven't posted enough Shaq lately....

I know all of you have been wondering why the Kid hasn't been staying up to date with all the Shaq hype that is going on out there. He has a new show called "Shaq VS" and I have honeslty not watched it once, so shame on me. Have any of you all out there watched this show??? If you have leave some comments on this post letting me know how it is. But here are a coupe of clips that I have scoured the internet for just to bring to my loyal blog readers. Enjoy.

And then of course we need to go out the right way....I actually filmed this clip for Shaq last week at Duxbury beach.

I guess Oregon has nice facilities....

I have seen clips like this before from Oregon's athletic facilities, but this one does a great job showing you everything you need to see in like 30 seconds. Keep in mind this is really all funded by Nike. If you don't know the whole Nike saga with Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman then google those two....they were both Oregon men.

But yeah anyways...I GUESS this is a nice college facility.

Get Outta Here with FD4

Final Destination 4 was released last week. This thing should have ended about 3 movies ago. It was slated to be a straight to DVD release. Let's have a peep at the trailer:

Hoho...NASCAR tires flinging at you? Rocks from lawnmowers? Carwash out of control? C'mon dude.

Guess what though? It was the No. 1 movie in America this past weekend. What the F. It brought in $25 mill and beat Inglourious Basterds. I don't get it. Is it because of 3-D? Are people really that into this series? Or is it just so true that ANY horror movie will draw no matter what because of teenage girls and high school dates? They are making a Saw VI after all. SIX!!

Because these movies are short, gory and a little humorous, they are sweet date movies. Everyone knows you can get a girl to hold/hug/grab you during a scary movie. It's like the first or second lesson in Dating 101. And girls love it to because it gives them an excuse to hold/hug/grab you. I mean, are they really that scared?

Need a date? Well if you're under 21 there are only so many options. You can only handle going out to eat so many times, and your parents are most likely bugging the hell out of you at home, so the movies crop up quite a bit. I'm sure everyone reading this used to do this. The Ring..Scream(s)..I Know What You Did Last Summer...What Lies Beneath...these are just a few of the ones that crop up in my mind that I saw. All are dece whack, but they're horror so who cares.

Horror will always draw. Even if it's shitty, special-effect, zero-plot, funny, semi-horror like FD4.

Please if you can think of anytime you saw a shitty movie just to make out or something and be close in the theatre, do tell...

Breaking News....LSU voted to have hottest fanbase (for college football)

GO TIGGGGGGERSSSSS!!!!
This news may come as a shock to many of you who thought that perhaps Arizona State or Florida held the #1 spot. Well after careful deliberation by the good people at Bleacher Report, Arizona State actually fell to #2...

And Florida fell all the way down to #6...

Now I really don't know the voting criteria, or exactly how this whole report was done, but I really can't argue with these results. I think the lesson that we can all take away from this is that we are all fools for going to schools in the North. Seriously what the F was I thinking? I should have been at school in the South getting shit faced with hot co-eds and talking them into making bad decisions with me. Instead I attended school in the New England with a bunch of rich stuck up bitches who wouldn't even drop their text book never mind their skirt. I guess I really knew nothing as an 18 year old...where the F was my father telling me all of this shit I never knew???

Dad: "Hey Jake why don't you go to school at Florida or something, the bitches down there are on another level"

Me: "Thanks dad I think I will. You have always been there to provide me with sound advice and guidance."

Seriously F*k all schools in the North. Obviously there were no schools even close to New England which were on this top 40 list, are you surprised? If you are entering your senior year of High School...learn from me, go South. Because who wants a good education when you can go to football games with 80,000 fans and girls like the ones posted above. You only live once, it might as well be surrounded with women out of your league.
